Hack Week - Team Overview App
Every year at BombBomb, Engineering and Product takes part in a week long “Hack-week” where they are given free reign to create a feature they believe will bring benefit to the company and it’s users. My team and I decided to conquer our vastly complex and confusing Teams ROI Dashboard and think through how it can be turned into a user friendly mobile experience that can be accessed like an app on a users home screen.
The Problem
Research has shown that 50% of users are using mobile exclusively, while our user base is only 6%, this was a problem, especially for teams. Teams account for a massive number of our daily users and when they are faced with our current team dashboard they are met with confusing statistics, clunky user experience and no clear idea on how to navigate the platform. Admins and newcomers were having a difficult time retrieving team and individual statistics and managing their seat counts, so they needed a quicker way gather stats, manage team members and track video performance.
Users + Audience
The target users are admins of large enterprise teams. These users have a strong preference for mobile-first, fast, real-time communication that lets them track their teams productivity and easily manage their seat count. A key differentiator of this user group is that they are sometimes on the go, so they want something that feels easy to navigate and allows them to quickly gather data, but is more heavily mobile focused
Team + Role
I worked closely with a core team of 4 developers and managed all aspects of the design process including: information architecture, user task flows, interaction, visual, product, and prototyping. I also helped present the final prototype to stakeholders and users, gaining insight and feedback to better improve future iterations.
